Google Summer of Code
Plone and Google Summer of Code
Since 2006, the Plone Foundation has participated in the Google Summer of Code many times. Throughout that long and storied history, Plone has benefitted greatly from the contributions of GSOC students. And many of our students have gone on to become core contributors to Plone as well as productive members of other open source software communities.
Prepare for the 2022 Summer of Code
Plone is applying to participate in the Google Summer of Code program. Should we be accepted, student applications will open on April 4, 2022. Until then, here are some ways you can get started learning about Plone and our community:
- Introduce yourself to our community
- Download and install Plone and make a simple website
- Read our training and our documentation to learn about how Plone works, and how to contribute
- Read our GSoC ideas list (or see all our forum's GSoC topics) and pick one you're interested in, or come up with your own idea.
We look forward to meeting you! Welcome to Plone!
2022 Project Ideas
The Plone community will be organizing a call for proposals of new ideas for the 2022 Summer of Code. We have applied to be an organization in this year's GSoC program. We will create a list of our official ideas to see if any of them interest you; there will be projects ranging from user experience to low-level database APIs. And you will be able to propose your own ideas too!
